Public Lecture "Frontiers of Cancer Research and Cancer Care

Cancer is the leading cause of death in Japan and is recognized as a serious problem for the lives and health of the Japanese people, as it is estimated that one in two people will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime. Recent advances in medicine and biology have revealed a number of genetic abnormalities that cause cancer and the mechanisms that cause malignant transformation of cancer. The results of these studies have led to new cancer diagnoses and treatments, benefiting many cancer patients.

In this lecture, Kanazawa University Cancer Research Institute and Next Generation Hokushin Cancer Professional (a medical human resource development project adopted by the "Next Generation Cancer Professional Training Plan" of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) will jointly introduce cancer research and cancer treatment, from the basics to the latest topics, in an easy-to-understand manner to the general public to provide an opportunity to deepen knowledge about cancer. This lecture will provide an opportunity for the general public to deepen their knowledge of cancer research and cancer treatment, from the basics to the latest topics. We hope that this lecture will contribute to the realization of a society that enables early detection, early treatment, and early reintegration into society.
